The Fundamentals of Chinese Acupuncture is a compilation of information from several sources. Selections from modern Chinese sources and classical texts were translated to create a book that would foster greater understanding of the changing tradition of Chinese acupuncture. The author's intent was to create a teaching text that would reflect not only the school of acupuncture as presented in modern texts from the People's Republic of China but also the tradition that lies at the heart of modern teachings. In the choice and presentation of material and the rendering of Chinese terms, we have aimed to take full account of the historical, cultural, and as well as the clinical realities of Chinese acupuncture.
